In 2023, we took another step forward by adding a PLEK® machine to our workshop, a rare and ultra-precise technology that guarantees perfect tuning.
The PLEK® is a guitar planimetry and adjustment machine, designed in Germany and used by the world's leading manufacturers and luthiers. It allows:
A 3D scan of Neck frets with the actual string tension.
Highly precise analysis accurate to one hundredth of a millimeter.
Automated planimetry that eliminates any irregularities.
A custom setting based on the musician's style and preferences.
Thanks to this precision, it is possible to achieve very low action without frieze, perfect accuracy, and optimal playing comfort.
For years, we had been closely following the advances in PLEK® technology.
We knew that this tool represented a turning point for modern guitar making. For a long time, it remained an unattainable dream, reserved for a select few workshops.
In 2023, this dream became a reality: we installed our own PLEK® machine in our workshop in Betton, Brittany.
It is a significant investment, but above all a clear commitment: to offer every Marceau guitarist an instrument with impeccable tuning.
There are only two PLEK® machines in France.
Globally, our workshop is the 96th in the world to benefit from this technology.
This rarity underscores the exclusivity and high standards we apply to the manufacture of our instruments.
We do not offer PLEK® as a service for all brands.
At Marceau Guitars, every guitar we make goes through PLEK® before leaving the workshop.
This step ensures:

1. Neck Scan – The instrument is placed in the machine, which scans each fret and the curvature of Neck unmatched precision.
2. Software analysis – Dedicated software detects even the smallest imperfections, invisible to the naked eye.
3. Precise planimetry– The frets are ground to within one hundredth of a millimeter for perfect alignment.
4. Custom adjustment – Action, intonation, and curvature are tailored to the musician's style and preferences.
